GIVE THANKS!

What is that aroma? Can you smell it? No, I’m not talking about the smoke that’s in the air. I’m talking about that nice, sweet smelling aroma.  Oh yes, it must be turkey or chicken & dressing.  It’s probably some ham, turnip greens, macaroni & cheese, and candied yams. It’s that pecan and sweet potato pie and various cakes.  Are you hungry yet? Thanksgiving is definitely one of my favorite holidays.  It’s packed full of good eating and typically family gatherings. Oh yea, also a little afternoon football watching and napping.  Even more importantly Thanksgiving is a time to pause and reflect.  It’s a time to ponder alllllll of the many things that you and I have to be thankful for.  If you are born again, be grateful that you are redeemed, saved by the blood of the Lamb, rescued from the wrath of God.  Be thankful that you can have daily communion with God.  Be thankful that you can abide in Jesus.  Be thankful that you are indwelt by and filled with the Holy Spirit.  Reflect on those truths for a moment.  Yes, we have much to be thankful for.  Also, we have the opportunity to tell others about our Jesus.  So, this Thanksgiving season be sure to share with family and others the love of Christ that abides in you.  Be thankful and enjoy the Lord this week as He continues to bless you.  I’ll leave you with these 2 verses:
1 Chronicles 16:34, “Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever.”
1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.”
